Tank Head Manufacturing

Bring the material, geometry and forming requirements together before defining the manufacturing scope.

Forming equipment in the workshop
Equipment photographed in the SIDA supplier catalogue. Review process suitability for the actual material and drawing.
01

A process starts with a defined component

Material grade, profile, diameter and thickness influence a forming requirement. The drawing also needs to identify edge details, tolerances and any subsequent processing.

02

Discuss the forming requirement

Hot and cold forming are process descriptions. Their relevance to a particular head needs to be considered with the material, geometry and project requirements.

  • Material specification and product form.
  • Head profile, size and thickness basis.
  • Required post-forming operations.
  • Surface and edge condition.
03

Connect production and inspection

Agree the dimensions, inspection criteria and documents associated with the component. Keep the drawing revision and material identification connected to the required records.

04

Prepare your drawing for review

Send the quantity and available drawing information, including any process or inspection requirement that is important to the project.

LET’S DEFINE YOUR REQUIREMENT

A drawing is a good start.
A question is enough.
